When we talk about our health then one of the important aspects of our health is cardiovascular disease that affects our lives badly. Thousands of people have died due to this chronic disease.

Now I am going to share my experience at a  hospital in Multan, where I was surprised how cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) have become common in people of all ages.

Therefore if we know its causes then it will be easy for us and our doctor to control it.We can follow the precautions for a successful recovery.

What are Cardiovascular Diseases?

Cardiovascular disease is a general term for conditions affecting the heart or blood vessels. Blood flow to the heart, brain or body can be reduced because of a blood clot.

Therefore build-up of fatty deposits inside an artery, leading to the artery hardening and narrowing called as (atherosclerosis).

Its most common types include coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and stroke.

These are taking place due to mental stress or some internal disorder.

These conditions can lead to severe health complications, including heart attacks and sudden cardiac arrest. In this situation patients require some mental comfort and family support.

Causes and Risk Factors

Now we are going to discuss some factors that contribute to the development of cardiovascular diseases such as,

High Blood Pressure: this disease spreads due to stress and tension which puts extra strain on our heart and arteries results as high blood pressure.

High Cholesterol: If we take unhealthy and fast food that contains low quality oil which leads to producing excess cholesterol can build up in your arteries, forming plaques that narrow them and become the cause of heart stroke.

Smoking: Cigarettes or other means of smoking that contain large amounts of tobacco which act as a risk factor for developing CVDs.

Diabetes: Diabetes spreads day by day and shows a bad effect on our health. It can also damage our blood vessels and nerves.

Obesity: Excess weight is also another factor that increases the risk of heart disease. Overweight can lead to fatty material building up in your arteries (the blood vessels that carry blood to your organs). The arteries that carry blood to our heart are damaged and clogged, it can cause a severe heart attack.

Physical Inactivity: Lack of physical exercise and activities are a cause of poor cardiovascular health. Because our body organs do not function properly due to lack of activities, in other words to activate our internal organs we take exercise daily.

Unhealthy Diet: Eating an unhealthy diet that is high in fat will make hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis) worse and increase your risk of a heart attack. Continuing to eat high-fat foods will cause more fatty plaques to build up in your arteries. This is because fatty foods contain an unhealthy type of cholesterol.

Prevention Strategies

We can prevent ourselves from cardiovascular diseases by changing our lifestyle and going for regular medical check-ups to our healthcare provider. Now we are going to discuss some of its practical steps:
